Cheer up, Emu Kid...
So lately I've been getting into this chap's music named Chris Carrabba and his group entitled "Dashboard Confessional". I really like his music. He's a very talented singer and songwriter. One thing I think is cool about his songs is that he respects the female gender. Although some of his stuff can be sketchy at times (especially outside the bonds of marriage), I appreciate his humbleness and care for girls, especially in relationships. I guess it was Chris who they say started (or at least was a central point) to this whole "EMO culture". Emo, just in case you may be wondering, is short for "emotional rock". He apparently brought the Emo genre into a different light due to his "more uplifting, love won" lyrics, rather than dark, depressing songs as was in the past. It seems like this whole "emo" thing is like one big diary of expressing emotions. Quite an interesting take on things, and seemingly in-line with Western culture nowadays.
Emo aside, I like the rockin' guitar riffs on this album and the searing, melodic vocals that Carrabba presents. I try not to consider myself emo, but I find myself appreciating the music more and more. Somebody help me!!! Intervention!!! Intervention!!!
What's next? The "side-swooped" hair and tight, black, apparel? Say it isn't so!

(Ok, so I don't look like this for real, but I last year, I did get into a fight with a hair straightener, and guess who won? Thanks be to k-dock and shana for the doo)
